Availabilities: Mount vs Westcliff, Sunday 5th August

I appreciate that this game is still some way off, but as many off you will be on tour from the 22nd July and will undoubtedly be consuming the odd glass of lemonade whilst away, which may have the effect of disorientating your memory cells, it would be of great help to me if you could indicate whether you will be available for the game on August 5th.

I wish all of you who are touring a pleasant time. If you find that the weather is unkind and you have the odd day to kill, might I suggest a visit to DJ Miles Tea and Coffee packers in Minehead If you contact Paul Marsh on 01643 703993 he would be able to arrange trip around the packing plant.

Probably not as exciting as a visit to a cider maker but interesting nonetheless.

Match Result: Mount vs Hadleigh and Thundersley
Mount: 148ao - T. Hair 46, G. Cox 32
Westcliff: 152/4 - A. Rafiq 2/30
Lost by 6 Wickets

We were no real match for a strong Hadleigh batting line up and lost as comprehensively as the score suggests, but the game was played in good spirit and we never gave up. We were pleased to welcome young Mr Rafiq in to the side and his enthusiasm and encouragement were a great source of amusement - particularly his Montyesque celebration when he got his first wicket. We look forward to welcoming him back in the future.

As you are all no doubt aware the President’s game fell victim to the weather which was a great pity. However the evening barbecue still took place and proved to be a fine end to a very disappointing day

Special thanks to Richard and Anita for organising this and also many thanks to Neville for arranging the facilities at the school and for all his efforts slaving over a hot barbecue.

And finally thanks to all of you who turned up to make the evening a success.
