David Skinner 7's

Unfortunately we have been unable to put together a squad to participate in this years David Skinner 7 a side tournament. However a number of Mount members will be attending on the day to lend support to this worthy cause.

The organisers were disappointed that Mount could not be represented as the club was an important part of David's life. We have been invited back for the tournament next year and hope that with co-operation from the organisers a 'Mount' team will be participating

Match Report: Mount vs Great and Little Warley

Warley: 181/4- Palmer 3-34
Mount: 107ao - Wilcox 20
Lost by 74 Runs

I do not have the full details of the scores but we had quite an enjoyable 35 over a side match with no bowler being allowed to bowl more than 6 overs which meant that we needed at least 6 bowlers. We did find 6 and they all performed admirably, with a special mention for young Jamie Lambert who bowled two very tidy overs when the big hitters were going and only conceded 11 runs. Well done.

When we commenced our innings it became very apparent that Warley had a bit more firepower in the bowling stakes but having removed the upper order for not a lot of runs they did bring on some of their lesser bowling lights which enabled Mount to at least get to 100 plus thanks to some lusty blows at the end by Mark

Mount have again been invited to participate in the annual David Skinner Memorial 7 a side tournament to be held on SATURDAY September 11th. David was a former player and president of Mount who sadly died from heart attack a few years ago. The tournament is held annually in Sussex to raise funds for the Lords Taverners. It is a most enjoyable day. There is an entry fee of £15.00** per player for which an all day BBQ and ale will be provided. There will be a donation required for the ale!!

If you would like to participate or just come along for the fun of it, please let either David Thomas or myself know
