April 2012 News

Cancellation: Mount vs Wrotham, Sunday 29th April 2012 @ Wrotham. 1430 Start

Yes, the pitch is already waterlogged and unplayable and only likely to get worse looking at the forecast.

Next fixture 6th May vs Old Southendians & Southchurch (h) 2pm start

There are still a number of players who have not provided their availability. Can you please ensure you send through. If you are not available for next week please advise next availability.

Also, subs are payable. If you do not know them, the Club's bank details are available on request from Richard Postlethwaite.

Please put your name as the payment reference - and it would be helpful if you could also send Richard Postlethwaite an email so that he knows to look out for it.

As a reminder the annual player subscription rates are unchanged this year at £35 for adults.

Pre-Season Nets

Thanks to everyone who came to our two net sessions, yesterday was good but was somewhat curtailed by thunder and hailstones - let's hope we have better weather on Sunday.

If haven't already done so could you please let Simon know you availabilities for Sunday and equally importantly for the next few weeks if at all possible. With our influx of new members we are very much hoping that everyone will get a few games off this year.

We have a number of players who have expressed interest in jumpers. We will be getting prices very shortly.

Availability

Hopefully the rain will hold off long enough for us to have another net session at AC on Sunday afternoon at 4pm.

If you haven't done so already, please can you advise me of your availability for our first game (Wrotham away 29th April) and subsequent games in May.

Pre-Season Nets

It was all too wet on Sunday but the ducks looked happy. Let's hope we don't see any more of them this season.

We are all on for this Sunday at 11.00. I have found the club bag so we should have plenty of kit!

The forecast is for Friday to Sunday is:

"Sunshine at times, especially mornings and early evenings, but also showers, some heavy and thundery, with hail and hill snow possible!

So we have an early adjournment to The Angel. Now we really know the cricket season is upon us with hail & snow forecast!

Let's pray for sun.

Pre-Season

Judging by the clamour I have received from everyone for nets (OK, I have had 2 requests), Neville has arranged to get the nets put up at Alleyn Court so we can get some pre-season practice in.

There will be 3 sessions:

Monday 9th April @ 1100 Sunday 15th April @ 1100 Sunday 22nd April @ 1600

with a view to a beer at the Angel afterwards! Please remember no spikes are allowed in the nets.

This will be a great opportunity to meet our new members as well as for existing members to shake off the cobwebs. Please make every effort to come along to at least one of the sessions.

The first match is Sunday 29th April away at Wrotham. You should have received an email from Bob with the fixtures. Please can you give me an indication of availability for this and the fixture through May?
