Mount Tour 2015

The tour this year was a great success and everyone is keen for a repeat in 2015.

Most tourists agree that we should move our tour HQ from Combe House to The Hood at Kilve. This is a big decision for tourists of long standing, but we feel Combe House has become increasingly expensive and there are a number of other factors favouring The Hood. I shall block book all the rooms at The Hood, which can accommodate twenty five people. I have spoken to the manager and he has agreed to give us 10% off the usual terms – a copy of which is attached. He can seat us all for the Thursday dinner at a cost of £20 and £15 for Sunday if we wish, but I suggest we eat at The Plough on Sunday and so spend more time with the Holford crowd.

The Jacksons have spoken for the family room, and Nigel and Bobbie a ground floor double. We shall need at least three singles, which they can do. We still have The Forge and Nether Stowey options, but the sooner you book the more likely you are to secure your preferred accommodation. Dogs are welcome at The Hood. Food is always available at the bar, and I am sure late night bridge players will be looked after.

The fixtures are as 2014, and I expect several new and lapsed tourists to join us in 2015.

I will update you with any fresh news, and do let me know your views and intentions as sooon as you are able.
