Availabilities: Mount vs Brentwood Victorians, Sunday 24th September 2017 @ Brentwood. 1300 Start.

This Sunday is the last Mount game of the season, away at Brentwood Victorians. Please note the earlier start time of 13:00.

We would also like to invite all club members to an end of season curry (somewhere in Leigh) in the evening after the game.

Please can you advise me of your availability for the game and the meal thereafter. It would be great to get a good turnout to both and mark the end of the season in style.

Cancelled: Mount vs Rankins, Sunday 17th September 2017 @ Rankins. 1300 Start.

I am sorry to report that Rankins are not going to be able to raise a side for the game scheduled for this Sunday the 17th of September. The game has therefore been cancelled.

That leaves us with one last fixture this season (Sunday the 24th of September). I will send out an availability request early next week and hope you will make every effort to make yourselves available.

Mount Tour 2018

Another successful tour with two wins and two losses. One game, Holford, cancelled due to lack of numbers - they were very apologetic. As they are uncertain about next year I am looking around for an alternative, about which Holford are aware and in no way offended.

I am a little concerned that some of our new supporters may have found the tou a bit boring with not enough to do. We do value our supporters - there is no obligation to watch every game and there is lots to do in the area with sea, walking, cycling, golf all a hand and more - so do please come next year.

egarding accomodation, I have been to the hood and met the new landlords, and am waiting for details of their prices and terms. My feeling is that their prices will be similar to Combe House and the Hood does not have a 'pubby' relaxed atmosphere and is more formal and concentrating very much on food. I am inclined to stay with the Windmill as our HQ, but if you have other ideas do let me know.

Tour performances were rewarded at our dinner led by new winner with the bat Jamie Lambert with 130 runs, Charlie won the best bowling with 10 wickets, Max Dunn for outstanding fielding, and Jamie for his keeping. THe dinner was excellent but constructive comments always welcome.

I hope players and supporter enjoyed the tour and will all come next year. Please let me know your intention as soon as possible, the deposit for the Windmill is as this year £30 per room, payable to me when you book.

All are welcome next year, including finely tuned athletes with cricketing ability!

I will keep you posted with any fresh news.
