I am awaiting news from a couple of other players re availability in which case the Nothers will be out
Mount vs Presidents XI
Sadly our President failed to enter into the spirit of the occasion, firstly by opening with Noel Smith who smashed a very rapid century before retiring and then when we batted catching Ged one of our main hopes of overhauling the target, when he had scored only two.
I, on the other hand, fully entered into the spirit by allowing Mr Smith to thrash my bowling to all parts of the ground and then when we batted and the time for the barbecue was approaching unselfishly getting out first ball to enable the president to claim the victory.
However I think that everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves with the possible exception of Richard Hair who managed to top edge a ball into his face and ended up looking as though he had gone 15 rounds with Mike Tyson. We do send hime our best wishes for a speedy recovery and hope sincerely that he was able to go on holiday the following day.
Many thanks to the President for being such a splendid host and also to all those who assisted in any way to make the day the success it was.
Just a reminder that partners and families are warmly invited to join in the fun on President's day, especially the BBQ which should commence at around 7.00pm.
Please find below amended amended details of the two sides which will contest the annual Mount vs President's X1 game on Sunday 21st June at Alleyn Court
My apologies to Sam Weller who somehow got deleted from the last message.

Those of you who are sharp eyed will have realised that there are 14 players designated for each side. If all are available and turn up then we will play a 14 a side match but if there are some who cannot make it then the teams will be adjusted accordingly.
Please do let me know as soon as possible if you cannot be there.
The match will commence at (approximately) midday. There will be a break for lunch at 1.30. Please bring you own lunch and anything else that you wish to consume at this time.
At around 4.30pm there will b an interval for a light tea consisting of a few sandwiches and cake and non alcoholic beverages.
The game will finish at about 7.00pm if not already over and there will then be a barbecue in the garden of the school. Hopefully the weather will be fine. Neville Carr is kindly organising the barbecue and Anita Hair is co-ordinating teas. Offers of assistance in preparing teas have ready been received from some of the ladies but any additional offers and offers of desserts to be served in the evening would be welcome. Please contact either Anita or myself.
I look forward to seeing you all, with partners and families where appropriate, on the day
I am sure that all Mount members and friends will join me in wishing our President, Mark Wicox, many happy returns on his 60th birthday today.
Still youthful in mind, body and spirit, Mark is due to play for us against Rayleigh this Sunday. The President's match is the following week on Sunday 21st June.

Alleyn Court: 135ao - Martin 4-22
Mount: 122ao
Lost by 13 runs
A traditional Mount batting collapse from 89 for 1 to 122 all out handed Alleyn Court a victory on Sunday. Having restricted the school XI to 135 all out with Xavier Martin finishing with 4 for 22 whilst Cox, Collinson and Garcia all finished with two wickets, things were looking good when Ged Williams, Richard Postlethwaite and Simon Jackson all chipped in early on. However once the second wicket fell only Xavier Martin made any further contribution and we subsided to 122 all out against the bowling of Hart and Carr. At least it was a nice game and the sun shone for most of it!!
Please note that I will be circulating and details and teams the Presidents day game a little later

A reminder that the Presidents game is on June 21st. We would be delighted to see as many of you as possible on the day and if you are able to play, so much the better. If you have not already advised me or Mr President (Mark Wilcox) of your availability or likely attendance please do so to enable us to sort out sides..
Please can you also let either myself or Anita Hair know if you are able to offer assistance in preparing something for tea.
