It’s too cold and too wet, so nets have been cancelled.

Let’s hope for a change of weather before the weekend.

Thanks to all of you who have responded to my availability request from last week.

There are a number of players who have not responded at all and we are currently a few players short for the game on Sunday. So if you are available, please let me know asap.

Also to confirm that there will be a net session down at the school tomorrow evening from about 18:00.

I just wanted to confirm that the mid-week net session will revert back to Wednesday evening from 18:00.

We had also had a good group of about 10 players down at nets on Sunday afternoon and as a result have decided to put on another nets session this Sunday afternoon from 15:30 onwards.

It will be good see you down at one of these sessions. It’s your last opportunity to get some practice in before the season starts.

We are just under two weeks away from the opening cricket fixture of the year and I am not only excited about the season ahead, but particularly looking forward to the opening game. Well I should say Tri series mini tournament!

Firstly, a big thanks to Bill who has arranged for Misfits and Old Westcliffians to join us for a limited overs competition to start the season.

The format of the day will be 3 x 15 overs-a-side matches, with a 12 noon start. Please note that the Mount are due to play the first game, so please get down to the ground for a prompt 12 o’clock start.

There will be a BBQ running for most of the day serving hotdogs and hamburgers.

Match fees for the day, to include food and tea/coffee, would be:
Mount players: £15, or £5 if in monthly s/o scheme Non-players: £2 per burger/hot dog and 50p for tea/coffee

Nets this week will be held on Thursday evening and will start at 18:00. The sessions will start to run later as the days lengthen, but please try to get down as there were just 4 people last week.

We are also planning on holding a net session on Sunday afternoon from 15:30 onwards.

Toby has informed that the nets have been resurfaced and he and Noel will be down at the school this evening from 18:00 to hold the first outdoor nets of the season. The session will last about 1.5 hours due to the limited light at the moment.
