Please note that the game starts at 12:00, so please be at the ground in good time. We will break for lunch at about 13:30, which you will need to cater yourself. There will be a small tea mid-afternoon and then a BBQ which we invited all players and family to stay for after the game.

Mount Tour June Update

Just over a month before we meet in Somerset. The fixtures are the same as last year, and we start at Holford on 23rd July at 2.30 p.m. We need a win against John Sherwin!!

There are a few tourists unable to come this year for job or family reasons, but we are delighted to welcome Alex Hatton of Westcliff and Laurence Ives of Rankins. William Wilcox is flying back to play one game, which is very noble of him.

Bill, Toby and the girls are having a ‘do’ at the ‘House’ on Tuesday evening, and it has been suggested that we chip in to Bill to help with the cost of food and wine.

Our HQ is at the Windmill with some tourists at nearby B&Bs. We still have room for a few more keen cricketers and friends and accommodation can be arranged. The presentation dinner will be at the Windmill at 8.00 p.m. on Thursday evening

Wives and girlfriends are all welcome on tour, cricket watching is optional but there are plenty of other attractions in the area if desired. Volunteer umpires required and we shall be grateful for any offer.

Following my mid-week chaser email is my now also familiar cancellation email.

We are again unable to raise a side for the game with only 7 players confirming their availability, so the game this Sunday has been cancelled.

Hope you enjoyed the wonderful sunshine this weekend and we can now get back to playing some cricket. Our next fixture is a home game against Canewdon.

Cancellation: Mount vs Brentwood Victorians, Sunday 18th June 2017

Unfortunately the run of limited player availability continues and we have been unable to raise a side again this week. As a result the game is cancelled.

President's Match, Sunday 2nd July

In recent years, we have tried to ensure all club members who want to play do play in this fixture. Please can you let me know your availability by this Friday, 16th June, because it is my job to ask guests to play to ensure we have 2 teams - and I cannot leave it much later. The match is a 12 noon start, bring your own lunch and I will do a barbecue for the evening.

I appreciate your cooperation in this regard.

Also, Ilan currently has 6 players for Sunday so please let him know if you are able to play so we are able to fulfil this fixture. We have been let down by 3 teams this year already so it would be a shame for us to cancel this time.

Cancellation: Mount vs Leigh, Sunday 11th June 2017

Regretfully I have been informed that Leigh are unable to raise a side for the game this Sunday. We have therefore had to take the decision to cancel the fixture.

It hasn’t been a great start to the season, but I am hopeful that this will be the last of the cancellations.
