I am very sorry to advise you that Dominique Skinner's mother died suddenly this week and quite rightly, the David Skinner 6s have been cancelled on Saturday. Those of us who met and knew her will remember a very special lady who will be sorely missed.

We are still a little short for Sunday so please let me have your availabilities as early today as possible.

No game next weekend.

Saturday 1st Sept is the Skinners 6 a side tournament. For anyone who has not played previously, this is an all day event in Surrey/Sussex borders made up of local teams that David Skinner was associated with. It's a good day so if you would like to play please let me know soonest.

Next Sunday game is Gt & Lil Warley away on 2nd Sept (please note 1pm starts in Sept). Please advise availability for that or next game you are available if you haven't done so already.

If you have not done so already please advise availability for this Sunday (Misfits at home) and/or next availability in September (D Skinner 7s, Warley on 1-2 Sept).

Due to a typing error (sorry) in my recent newsletter the date for the 2013 tour was shown as July 31st – this should have read July 21st.

However, since my newsletter, it has come to light that the schools may not have broken up at that time, and some family and players may therefore not be available on 21st July. It may however be possible to move the tour to 28th July. As soon as the school dates are known, and whether the fixtures and hotel dates can be moved, I will let you all know.

After such a successful tour I think it is most important that we keep our happy squad together – if at all possible.

I hope you enjoyed the Tour. The sun shone on us and from us! Everyone was involved from the very young to the more mature, players and supporters alike. Once we accustomed to the Somerset conditions we were on a roll – and a three wins to two defeats was a fair reflection.

Unfair perhaps to name anyone from such a star studded squad, but Sam Weller’s performance in scoring 485 runs and 8 wickets was outstanding. Well done everyone.

I have to book new fixtures from year to year with clubs because they have such a heavy demand and the corresponding dates in 2013 is Sunday 31st July. I do so hope you will all come again and join us for what has become a wonderful cricket tour and a happy holiday for supporters and friends.

Guests are VERY welcome all day and are of course invited to the evening barbeque but please do remember that we all have to supply our own lunches.
