Following the bank holiday weekend, I wanted to remind you all to please let me know if you are available for the game this Sunday.

In addition I have spoken to the majority of the committee and we have agreed to reduce the casual player match fee back to £10. If the previous arrangement was acting as a deterrent to you playing for the Mount, please accept my apologies. I hope that this will resolve some of the challenges we have experienced with regards player numbers over the past few weeks.

Please can you confirm your availability for our next fixture, which is a home game against John Wilcox’s XI. Details of the game to be provided next week, but please note the earlier start of 12:00.

In addition Will would like to start getting availabilities for the President’s game on the 2nd of July. Please can you let me know if you are available for this fixture too.

Following on from my previous message, I write to inform you that there will be a service to celebrate Terence’s life on:

Friday June 9th at St Saviour’s Church, Chadwick Road, Westcliff at 11.30am followed by the wake at The Lawn, Rochford.

I am sure that the club will be well represented on that day.

Please ignore my earlier email. Unfortunately Rankins are also well short of a full team and on that basis we have taken the decision to cancel (again) the fixture for this Sunday.

We have managed to rearrange our fixture with Rankins. This will now be played this Sunday the 28th.

I am pleased to report that we’ve now got a full team for the game this Sunday.

Unfortunately, I have just had a message from Rankins to say that they are unable to raise a side for Sunday and have asked us to postpone the fixture.

We are working to move this fixture to next Sunday the 28th and I will confirm this asap. In the meantime I am very sorry, but the game this week has been cancelled.

We are currently 2 players short for the game this Sunday against Rankins, so if you can play, then please confirm your availability asap. Also if you know anyone else who might like a game, please invite them and let me know.

In addition, we have had news from EHOB that they are unable to raise a side for the game next week. Therefore the fixture for Sunday the 28th is cancelled.

We’ve exhausted all options in trying to get enough players to fulfil the fixture this Sunday, but had no luck. The game this Sunday has therefore been cancelled.

It’s disappointing and I hope we have better availability next week and for the remainder of the season.

We came up against a determined Taverners team yesterday and after a Mount collapse chasing 260 in 40 overs, we fell short and lost the game.

So onwards to Belhus next weekend. Please can you let me know your availability for this game.

The season got off to a great start, with Mount winning both games of the tri-series to finally take home the Nick Clough cup. Thanks and well done to all involved!
