Well done to the team for another solid performance vs Belhus yesterday. The inclement weather looked like scuppering our plans but we were able to fit in a T20 game.

A dogged performance in the field restricted Belhus to 140-4 off their 20 overs. An excellent 71 on debut from Mark Webb and a 50 not out from Paul Offord saw us home with 9 balls to spare.

There is no game this coming weekend and our remaining fixtures for the season are as follows:
6th Sept - Chalkwell Misfits (Away)
20th Sept - Rankins (Away)

Both matches will be played at Rankins and will start at 1pm.

One cancellation, cold weather and only one win, that’s the downside, but there were many more upsides to our tour. Our new HQ, The Hood Arms, was super, a win –v- Stogumber, new tourists, lots of ‘next year please’, and a wonderful party hosted by Bill, Simone, Louise and a part recovering Toby. Lots more good news and a vibrant youth squad to relieve some of our slightly older tourists.

I have booked all available rooms at The Hood Arms from Sunday 24th July to Friday a.m. 29th July 2016. John and Jasmin hope to make more rooms available so most of us can stay at The Hood – first come first served – so please confirm your 2016 booking with me as soon as possible, and include a deposit cheque for £25 made out to ‘The Hood Arms’.

I have written to all the clubs thanking them for their hospitality, and confirming the 2016 fixtures. Thank you for making the tour such fun and a great success, and please join us next year. Do let me know your availability and any ideas you may have for making the tour even better in 2016.

I am sorry to inform you that Leigh have cried off for the game this weekend. Their under 16’s have a matchplay game on Sunday and as a result they have lost half their team and have no replacements at this stage.

There is no net practice this week either, but we’ll try to get this back on again next week.
