Hello Mount Members and Followers!
The season is less than 3 months away and already activity on the playing side has increased with fixtures confirmed and pre-season training sessions underway. Following a recent meeting the Committee agreed to some improvements to the facilities at the ACG. These include a new storage shed and some long overdue replacement chairs which should improve things for spectators. We are also looking to purchase a defibrillator for the club to be stored in the Pavilion. We obviously hope never to use it but these incredible pieces of kit really can save lives. We hope these additions will add to the "Mount Experience" for all concerned.
In agreeing to purchase these items the Committee was conscious that such improvements come at a cost. In recent times most of the club's funding has come from our highly successful Players’ Subscription Scheme. This costs £10 per month and carries a number of benefits for those who participate. This has allowed us to keep the financial side of the club on an even keel under the stewardship of our out-going Treasurer, Clive Lambert, who hands over the reins to Anita Hair who I know will do an excellent job.
As the Players’ scheme has been so successful, we felt it would be a good idea to offer non-playing friends and supporters of Mount the opportunity to participate in a similar scheme should they wish to do so. This scheme would of course be completely voluntary and any amount donated would be at your discretion, although our suggested amount is £5 per month. Collection would be by monthly direct debit in order to keep the administration to a minimum but, should you wish to pay annually or make a one-off donation, these options will also be available. If the scheme is a success, it is our intention to offer some benefits to participants and possibly to establish a prize draw in line with schemes run by other clubs and organisations.
There are number of ways you can make a payment.
One way is to complete the attached standing order mandate which contains the club's bank details. This needs to be signed and dated by the account holder and either delivered to Anita or to your bank directly.
Alternatively, setting up a regular direct debit or one-off payment is very simple. The easiest way is via electronic banking, where you can pledge your amount and pay to the Mount bank account (details of the account are on the attached mandate).
If you have any questions please contact Anita, myself or Bill.
Looking forward to the 2019 season and seeing many of you then! Look out for more news nearer the start of the season.
Best,
Simon
