Dear Tourists,
The thirtieth tour was a great success, and from a playing point of view the results were the best ever – four wins and one loss (Holford). Our guest players were a great asset, on and off the field, thank you all.
The late demise of The Hood was a problem, but was solved by the discovery of the nearby Windmill. Thanks to Tony for looking after us at short notice, and for a super carvery meal on Thursday. I have written to the new landlord of The Hood regarding 2017, and await a reply on terms and availability.
The 2017 tour is from Sunday 23rd July leaving on Friday 28th July. Please let me know your accommodation requirements and preference for The Hood or Windmill, plus local B&B’s and Combe House is available for those with deeper pockets. Fixtures are the same as 2016, and we hope to continue with Bagborough on Monday.
We do not aim to make a profit from the tour, but this year we shall make a loss due in part to increased ‘tea and ground’ charges plus more junior tourists at £5 a game.
Please let me know your intentions and accommodation requirements for 2017 ASAP. Players and supporters are all welcome, and we already have regular and new tourists keen to join us. The Mount tour is a great success and goes from strength to strength. Join us in 2017.
